These portraits are created specifically for individual families. I meet with a family and listen to the stories that make them unique – what are thier philosophies, traditions and experiences. I take images of keepsakes and any personal items that hold important memories for the family. I then go back to my studio and work to build a composition, adding in items which help externalize each family landscape. A draft print is shown to the family, notes are taken and incorporated into the final visual narrative.
