April is a storyteller, a collector of documents, a filmmaker and photographer.

Her films have screened at The Ann Arbor Film Festival, The New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center, Film Anthology Archives in New York, Black Maria Film Festival, Rotterdam Film Festival, The Boston Museum of Fine Art, the Museum of Contemporary Photography (MoCP) in Chicago, San Francisco Cinematheque, Chicago Underground Film Festival, Hollywood Underground Film Festival, and on PBS to name a few.

Her photography has been shaped by her work as a filmmaker – exploring magical realism within the still frame. She likes to seek-out backyard gardens, everyday household objects, personal possessions, keepsakes and domestics artifacts to build a dramatic visual narrative.

Based in Concord and Boone NC, April’s work is defined by the merging of the natural world with domestic interiors.
